History

First called "The Carter House", this beautiful home was built circa 1906 by John Carter in Speedway, Indiana. The Carter family would reside here for ten years, until selling the home to the Baker family. The Bakers eventually relocated to Pennsylvania. By 1952, E. W. Stallions purchased the home. Now sitting on an acre of land, Stallions would remain here until 1962, when Sue and Bob Farris purchased the home.

The Farris family would host many events and gatherings, as well as begin several renovation projects throughout their 40 years of ownership. We understand that during the Farris years, the home first began to operate primarily as a bed and breakfast, and would do so until January 2014
